MUST HAVE FOR THE GARDEN
The Cherry Guava (also known as strawberry guava) is an attractive tall evergreen shrub with glossy green leaves and smooth branches. In spring masses of white flowers appear followed by a sweet, juicy fruit in the late Summer to Autumn.
This guava fruit is 2.5-4cm in diameter (size of a lychee), deep red with a thin skin and has a delicious strawberry flavoured-like taste.
Fruit can be eaten straight off the tree and the pulp can be juiced to make a delicious juice that’s rich in vitamin C.
Cherry guavas are a sub-tropical variety and will grow in a wide range of soils and climates.
As a garden plant they are a hardy shrub and can be used as an informal hedge or a patio plant.
Plants are available for pickup 3 days a week from Gold Coast Robina or Brisbane Chermside.
